Bori Rutkai and the Specko Jedno
This programme is held in Hungarian.
Rutkai Bori and Speckó Jedno cross the elements of funk, jazz and underpop, but bluesy, tango-like, rap and chanson moods also appear in their songs. In the band, which started in the early 2000s, alongside singer Bori Rutkai, Zoltán Mizsei plays the piano, Dániel Szerető plays the bass guitar, János Nemes plays wind instruments and Csaba Németh plays the drums. Bori’s lyrics are painting-like fairy tales for adults, with witty humour and a playful use of sounds and words. Musically, pleasantly groovy funk, concrete-totem blues and star-forest ambient are intertwined. With the exception of the pianist, the ensemble also plays together in Bori’s children’s band, so the adult audience may know the group’s spirit and sound world from the direction of the Rutkai Bori Banda as well. At this open-air, summer evening concert, in addition to songs from the 2013 album Anticity and the 2009 album Whatevergreens, new surprise numbers can also be expected.
