Balaton has been one of the most important and most influential bands of the Hungarian underground for more than four decades: under the leadership of Mihály Víg, their melancholic, minimalist songs have become a fundamental layer of Hungarian alternative music. The band is still active today, and their concerts are rare, special occasions: at once intimate, raw and elemental, where the cult-status oeuvre operates live with its full weight. Balaton is still an unmissable concert experience today – not a nostalgia band, but a living classic.
