Freddie – the Exhibition Curatorial Guided Tour
The temporary exhibition titled Freddie pays tribute to one of the greatest rock stars of all time, Freddie Mercury. The artist, who would have turned 80 this year, gave a legendary stadium concert in Hungary forty years ago with his band, Queen; this was the first massive rock event held behind the Iron Curtain by a Western star band. This double anniversary lends special timeliness to the joint exhibition of World of Freddie, which preserves the memory of the worldwide star, and the House of Music Hungary. Through several hundred original personal objects and stories, and with the help of experience-based installations, it reveals the lesser-known, human side of Freddie Mercury. At the related guided tours, the curators of the exhibition and his close collaborators – alternating occasionally: Gábor Szilágyi, Endre Vazul Mándli, Márton Horn, and Melinda Erdőháti – introduce visitors to the hidden details of the show. Behind-the-scenes secrets about how certain spaces of the exhibition were created, exciting details about Freddie’s personal belongings, and background to the professional work.
The language of the guided tour is Hungarian, and the ticket price also includes admission to the exhibition.
