Dina Sárközi: SHARED album release
This programme is held in Hungarian.
Singer-guitarist Dina Sárközi returns to the House of Music to present her first full-length album, titled SHARED, on the Open-Air Stage. Dina Sárközi’s warm, velvety voice blends lyrical subtlety with dramatic power, creating an intimate space where poetry and musicality meet, where she plays with the music of language, and where every song is at once a personal confession and a universal human experience. Her artistic thinking is shaped by a variety of influences, from personal singer-songwriter pop-folk to jazz, world music and indie rock. She fuses these different musical languages with natural ease into a distinctive, easily recognizable sound of her own. For Dina, music is shared play and exploration—a creative space where improvisation and attentive listening to one another are fundamental. Her debut album is being realized with the support of the National Cultural Fund. The central idea of the album is Christopher McCandless’s famous sentence from the book and film Into the Wild, based on a true story: “Happiness only real when shared”, meaning that happiness is only real if we share it. The songs on the album revolve around this question, from the perspective of both the one who shares and the one who receives, placing fragile human relationships and honest vulnerability at the center. In keeping with the subject, the album’s material is performed with Dina’s sextet.
