¡Viva Cuba! – Cuban Cultural Day
On the last day of summer, the final Sunday of August, a Cuban Cultural Day will take place at the House of Music Hungary, organized in collaboration with the Cuban Embassy, celebrating the 65th anniversary of Hungarian-Cuban diplomatic relations.
This free event begins with the screening of a Cuban cult classic, the 1968 film Memorias del subdesarrollo (Memories of Underdevelopment). The film will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles.
Following the screening, Bakary will perform live, blending Cuban music with Latin jazz.
The popular singer, accompanied by the Latin Jazz Syndicate, will present her most well-known songs, but this time, they will appear in a new guise, inspired by Afro-Cuban roots. The music’s unique soundscape is created by effect-laden guitar and percussion, providing a powerful foundation for Elsa’s authentic vocal performance. Their sound is vibrant and Latin-flavored, brought to life with fiery energy from top-tier instrumentalists, while Elsa captivates the audience with her trademark professionalism and radiant presence – ensuring a hot, unforgettable atmosphere.
