From Grief to Solace: A Literary-Musical Evening by Pál Mácsai and Alexandra Balog
From Grief to Solace: A Literary-Musical Evening by Pál Mácsai and Alexandra Balog
This programme is held in Hungarian.
Love and death have been major themes in art since the beginning of history. On the eve of All Saints' Day, as winter approaches, when our mood is set by thoughts of passing, the music of Chopin, Schubert and Brahms, as well as the poetry of Dezső Kosztolányi, Attila József, Ernő Szép, Sándor Weöres, Ottó Orbán and György Petri, testify that we are not alone in our anxiety, fears and pain. On this evening, Alexandra Balog, pianist, and Pál Mácsai, theatre artist, will guide us through the stages of the soul, from grief to consolation, through poetry and music.
The concerts of our Tuned to Piano program series can easily captivate those who are still far from the world of romantic piano literature, while they also hold new experiences for those who come to the House of Music Hungary as black-belt classical music fans.
