Dresch Quartett
Dresch Quartett
Mihály Dresch founded his first group in 1986 with the goal of creating his own musical style. The group's main elements were derived from the improvisational experiences of jazz and the traditions of Hungarian folk music. In 2022, Dresch's efforts were recognised with the Kossuth Prize. The current line-up of Dresch's quartet has been in place for eight years. The internationally recognised cimbalom player Miklós Lukács has maintained a musical partnership with Dresch for 20 years, while the quartet's other members, double bassist Marcell Gyányi and László Csizi, are also preeminent figures on the Hungarian jazz scene. The Dresch Quartet's latest album Live in London, was released in 2024 by Morotva Records.
The program is held in Hungarian.
