Eszterhéj: Children's Songs on a World Tour
This program is held in Hungarian.
In September 2025, the Eszterhéj Band released their first album titled "World-Travelling Children's Songs," which is showcased to the public at the House of Music. The album guides families through the musical world of East-Central Europe, from Moravia through the Carpathian Basin to the Balkans. The songs are performed in the original languages and in Hungarian, featuring the authentic musical sounds typical of each nation. Beyond the authentic musical compositions, it was crucial to compile a content-rich material from a pedagogical perspective: the album includes folk games, rhymes, rhythm games, and a decoy tale, with its musical material selected from classic Hungarian children's song literature. Additionally, world music-inspired compositions play a prominent role, with lyrics penned by István Csukás and Sándor Weöres. At the concert, as usual, various musical tasks engage children in the shared experience of making music and musical creation.
