The Folk on 45 – the singer Lili Träger (Balkan Fanatik, Attaca, Horba and Folksz bands) and the guitarist Lajos Szőllősi (Balkan Fanatik, Superbutt, Vastrabant) duo – aims to bring the world of Hungarian folk music and the international mainstream pop-rock scene closer together. In their compositions, which also contain plenty of original ideas, they use a looper pedal to layer rhythm, harmony and melody on top of each other, which makes them essentially sound as if a full band were playing them. Their repertoire is made up partly of these individually flavored mixes and partly of their own folk-song arrangements.
The style fusion represented by the duo blends together, within the walls of the Popcultural Club Library on this evening, two types of musical directions that haven’t really appeared separately at our previous club concerts, and now you can catch them both at once — don’t miss it!
