Founded in 2006, Orchestra Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp is a large-scale project. Currently, with 12 members, they are working to prove that the formula ‘the more the merrier’ has never been truer. The Swiss band, which one could describe as a psychedelic big band, has played at various prestigious festivals and their five albums to date showcase an astonishing diversity of genre-processing music. Taking their name from the great African bands, the group builds on the interaction between the musicians while constantly pushing their own boundaries. The result is a powerful, experimental, and terrifically alive organic sound. Free jazz, post-punk, highlife, krautrock and symphonic sounds are all blended into music that offers a trance-like experience.
