SOLD-OUT - Koyaanisqatsi – Life Out of Balance (1982)
Our open-air film series with live music will once again feature a classic movie, Godfrey Reggio’s Koyaanisqatsi from 1982. Koyaanisqatsi is a Hopi Native American word that can be roughly translated as “life out of balance”. The film has no dialogue or other recorded sounds. Instead, using solely the images on screen, it makes some grave statements on the relationship between man, nature and technology. Philip Glass originally composed an equally powerful and expressive score for the film. During the screening, this music will form the basis for improvisation by Artúr Schallinger-Foidl, Zsolt Szabó and Bence Varga. Artúr Schallinger-Foidl earned a master’s degree as an organist from the Liszt Academy in 2018.
