DjembeJAM! Junior - Drum Circle
DjembeJAM! Junior - Drum Circle
This programme is held in Hungarian.
DjembeJAM! Junior is a liberated community musical gathering centered around the most popular African percussion instrument, the djembe. It is specifically designed for families and students, with playful tasks giving a taste of the captivating world of community music-making. The program consists of an interactive instrument presentation and "edutaining" community rhythm games, through which we tune in to each other and learn about the instruments of the drum circle in a playful way.
We enhance our focus on the "here and now," coordination, attentiveness to each other, and sense of rhythm. Finally, with the participants, we form a spontaneous drum orchestra and collectively play a traditional African rhythm. Participation requires no musical background, just good spirits, openness, and attentiveness to each other.
To this end, we recommend our program from the age of 6. The goal is for as many people as possible to experience the sweeping, lively experience of folk percussion instruments and acoustic community music-making and drumming!
We are welcoming the whole family to our outdoor stage with ever more exciting concerts, performances and activities at 10:30 every Saturday throughout the summer! Our series is not only dedicated to a wide variety of musical genres – from jazz through Hungarian and African folk music to classical music – but also to some great artists who may be less familiar to the general public but who really deserve more attention.
