Analogue Icons - Freddie Mercury and His Contemporaries Exhibition Opening
Denis O’Regan (1953–), the British photographer and one of the defining figures of the punk and rock movement, will present a solo exhibition in March 2026 at the House of Music Hungary. Serving as a prelude to our large-scale temporary exhibition titled Freddie – The Exhibition, also opening in spring 2026, Freddie Mercury and his influential contemporaries will take over the Foyer.
Denis O’Regan has captured iconic performers and bands such as Freddie Mercury and Queen, David Bowie, Patti Smith, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Duran Duran. Although Denis became world-famous as a professional stage photographer—being among the first to capture Freddie Mercury in the iconic clenched-fist pose—this exhibition approaches the stars from a different perspective. We have gathered images that offer a glimpse into everyday life, the artists’ personal spaces, and the intimate moments backstage.
