imPro School – Discussion and workshop
This program is held in Hungarian.
imPro School celebrated the 15th anniversary of its founding this year. The first course started in 2010 under the leadership of the school’s founder, Ambrus Deák. Ambrus studied Music Technology at the London College of Music and Media. After completing his studies, he found that in Hungary there was no similarly practice-oriented producer and electronic music training available, even though the demand was clearly present.
The school’s core concept was to introduce more modern, international music education methods into the domestic scene. From the very beginning, we have placed great emphasis on community building as well: our goal is that students graduating with us gain not only knowledge, but also professional connections, that they can more easily become part of the music industry’s cycle, and that a long-term active, supportive alumni community is formed. The school achieved significant success already in its first years of operation and has since continued to work with a considerable student base.
In 2026, the House of Music will provide a venue for the imPro School students’ showcase. The first program element of the event will be a professional roundtable discussion with iamyank and Mercédesz Fenyő, which will explore current issues of contemporary music creation processes, with particular attention to the impact of technological development. The aim of the discussion is to examine from different perspectives how the tools currently available—whether digital solutions, new workflows or
innovative technologies—shape the everyday reality of composition, production and creative thinking. The emphasis is on how these tools can complement and support human creativity, rather than replace it. During the discussion, the participants will reflect, through their own experiences, on how these changes appear in education, in studio work and in independent creative practice, as well as what opportunities and questions they raise for the musicians of the future.
In the second part of the event, we will listen together to tracks submitted in advance by imPro School students, followed by a professional feedback session.
Dear Visitor, We kindly inform you that during the event, photographs, audio recordings, and/or video recordings may be taken. By attending the event, you consent to the recording of such materials through your implied conduct.
