A Weekend with the Csíkszerda Choir: The Sacrafice of Queen Lili’uokalani

This programme is held in Hungarian.

Csíkszerda evokes the tragic fate of the last Hawaiian queen with choral improvisation and wonderful Oceanian songs; in defense of her country she ultimately signs the annexation to the United States, thereby surely saving an entire culture. Behind the gentle songs and delicate harmonies hides an almost completely unknown song culture, whose evocation we can very rarely hear in choral performances in Hungary, so now is the time for them to lead their audience from the Philippines to Hawaii and from New Zealand to Tonga.
