Bach Remastered by László Fassang & Áron Tálas
The program is held in Hungarian.
Unique improvisational ability, an inexhaustible will to play, indisputably well-qualified, and a love and respect for both Bach and each other – this is what connects László Fassang and Áron Tálas, who in this joint concert will endeavour to reexamine the basics of Bach – in other words, to paint their very own portrait of the German composer. In contrast to mainstream early music practice, the Hammond organ, piano, Fender Rhodes and various electronic keyboard instruments will take a starring role in place of the harpsichord, clavichord and organ used by Bach. The two performers will play a selection of the most diverse Bach works, from solo pieces to orchestral concertos. The sheet music, however, is just the starting point as the Fassang-Tálas duo give free reign to creative musical innovations and improvisation. The pair will introduce their audience to their constantly changing, spur-of-the-moment play, as through their keyboards they tell the story of all that they find exciting and captivating in Bach’s music. Fassang and Tálas break down the building blocks of Bach’s works before recreating them according to new rules and a new perspective. They will not strive for perfection – instead, their goal is to create powerful musical moments that will impact any listener who likes to lose themselves in free and creative play.
