The style elements of authentic and rhythm & blues, the cavalcade of Hungarian, Irish, or even Native American folk music motifs give a fundamental, sometimes tribal sound in a more modern and driving musical guise. Overwhelming energy, poetic thought, melodic and elemental sound world. This is characteristic of Messessippi. Messessippi toured as an opening band for György Ferenczi and the 1ső Pesti Rackak. Balázs Dongó Szokolay, an outstanding wind musician of Hungarian folk music, has been a guest on several occasions. In 2016, the band won the special award of the Szimpla Lemming program. It has given many concerts at events, festivals, both here and abroad. It released its first album, Remete, in 2018, as a duo (Voodoo Papa).
