CocoRosie (USA)

One of the most original-sounding bands of the past twenty years, CocoRosie will visit Hungary again as part of its 2025 tour and present its eighth studio album, Little Death Wishes, set to be released in the spring of 2025. The duo, consisting of the Casady sisters—Sierra, with opera singing training, and Bianca, who incorporates hip-hop influences into the band’s sound—plays experimental pop music with an eclectic sound that combines electronics and acoustic instruments. Last year, they signed with a new label (Joyful Noise Recordings) and proved with fresh songs that they are still the masters of nodding-beat-glitches art pop.

CocoRosie is a popular band in Hungary; we have heard the sisters' unique art pop live on several occasions. However, they have not been to Hungary in over a decade, making it truly joyful that they are entering a new phase of their career and presenting a fresh album at the House of Music. Besides folktronica, baroque pop, and psychedelia, their songs are characterized by masterly poeticism and timeless harmonies, not to mention seven outstanding albums, including the 2004 debut album, La Maison de Mon Rêve, which received a twentieth-anniversary reissue last year. Now, they are adding an eighth to this collection: on Little Death Wishes, the Casady sisters tell a kaleidoscopic story about the generational hardships of women and the shattered reality of their lives, and in general, about the uncertain and precious nature of human existence. Chance the Rapper and Deerhoof's drummer, Greg Saunier, also contribute to the album. Additionally, the band will be joined by a string quartet on the accompanying tour.

Maia Kalwill

Coming from a family of musicians, Maia Kalwill began working on her debut album at the age of 16. Titled Stop The Clock, the record was released in 2024 and blends genres in a crossover fashion, fusing hip-hop, indie rock, and alternative pop influences, drawing on the melancholic inspiration of artists like Lana Del Rey and Tame Impala.
