Eszter Lukács Exhibition Opening

Eszter Lukács graduated in 2023 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts with a degree in graphic arts. Her main interest lies in the relationship between sounds and images, as well as the conscious and unconscious. The audiovisual installations invite the viewer into the creator's personal ocean-related experiences: what happens underwater, where a meditative, focused state of consciousness can be achieved, where the self fragments and merges into the whole, where only the present exists. With the help of ultrasonic sensors, visitors become active, essential parts of the work: with their body movements, they influence the analog-generated, digitally modified, recorded sound effects. The installation series titled “the sun sinking below” can be viewed on level -2 of the House of Hungarian Music.

At the opening event, Zsombor Bóna, Zalán Bendegúz Huff, Noel Nagy, and Endre Szép will play their instruments in an experimental manner, differing from the classical approach. These sound effects will be recorded and digitally modified by Máté Lukács on site. The recorded material will form the basis of the audio part of the installation, which will be audible until the end of the exhibition. The exhibition will be opened by Dávid Bendegúz Zana.
