Júlia Karosi // Ingrid Jensen // Kristjan Randalu

Three highly individual and boldly experimental musicians, the singer Júlia Karosi, the Estonian pianist Kristjan Randalu and the Canadian trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, promise a special treat with this album launch concert. Inner Voice, the album in question, features new compositions by Júlia Karosi and Kristjan Randalu, as well as folk song arrangements and transcriptions of works by classical composers such as Mussorgsky, Bartók and Villa-Lobos.

A clean, intimate sound characterises the album, most of which features the vocal-piano duo alone, with trumpet accompaniment on just a few songs. "The music and playing of Kristjan Randalu has been an important source of inspiration for me for years. The way he improvises in classical music is quite unique, and his own compositions reveal a singular universe. After our concert in 2021, the concept of a joint album started to take shape. Kristjan was really inspiring to work with, and was a major contributor to both the composition and the orchestration. I've also been following Ingrid Jensen's work for a long time, she's a wonderful artist who contributed a lot to the album with her sound and her sensitive playing." (Julia Karosi)
