Szeged Symphony Orchestra
Szeged Symphony Orchestra
This programme is held in Hungarian.
During the City in the House - Szeged thematic weekend, the Szeged Family Day on Saturday will conclude with an evening concert featuring the Szeged Symphony Orchestra's "Eight Seasons", a programme of Vivaldi and Piazzola.
Vivaldi's Four Seasons Violin Concerto Suite is one of the most popular pieces of music. Its concept inspired the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla, the "King of Tango", who composed Four Seasons in Buenos Aires, which at several points - humorously - quotes from Vivaldi's work. The works are not performed one after the other, but 'nested': the seasons are represented by juxtaposing the corresponding pieces from the two compositions.
On the last weekend of May and the first weekend of June, the music scene of Szeged will be on display at the House of Music. The City in the House series embodies the House's missionary commitment to offer a wide variety of genres and educational programmes, while also providing an opportunity for future talents to showcase their skills. Saturday's cavalcade in Szeged will feature a wide range of programmes, from classical music - led by the Szeged Symphony Orchestra in a Saturday evening concert - to the Béla Kövér Puppet Theatre, folk music and jazz productions, and educational talks.
