Hangadó Junior - When and why do we sing?

Some people find courage in it, while others prefer to fall asleep. And then there are those whom it energises as they work, and those who only enjoy it lounging in an armchair. It makes some people happy, and others sad. (Especially if it is very out of tune...) Let’s face it, this list can be continued almost endlessly. How few things there are in the world that are able to accomplish all this, and how wonderful it is that MUSIC can! This third instalment of the entertaining family programme series Lecture Cycle Junior (Hangadó Junior) continues the search for answers to the great questions about the essence of MUSIC – and of course life in general. This time we will address the matter – and plan for some tears of joy and emotion – of when and why we sing. How does singing affect us at all? And why is it good for us to sing? Helping us to answer these questions will be the members of Soharóza, Hungary’s most innovative choir, led by Sarolta Eörsi. Of course, we will also be touching on our regular themes (making music together, the gymnastics of art analysis), all naturally hosted by Feri Tarr, the House of Music Hungary’s concert teacher. With their help, hopefully not only will each child return home enriched by a (positive) experience, but they will also ponder another question: “Okay, now that I understand what singing is all about (in other words, what the meaning of life is), what other musical instruments are out there?” Because this will be the subject of the next Lecture Cycle Junior programme on 22 February!

The program is held in Hungarian.
