During the all-day series of events, in addition to three concert hall programs (On a Stormy Night - matinee concert from 12:00, TAMAKKO-ZA - concert with drum and play from 14:00, KIZUNA concert from 16:00), one can participate in numerous free, or free but registration-required programs.

A combined day ticket for the Japan Day programs is also available at a price of 7500 HUF, which covers admission to all three concert hall programs.

This programme is held in Hungarian.

The free programmes are listed below, with start times, locations, and, for those that are compulsory, a registration link.

★ JAPANESE SENCHA TEA CEREMONY
Tea ceremony and tasting 12:00-17:00, VIP Lounge
Senchadō is a traditional Japanese tea ceremony that involves the art of brewing tea leaves, as opposed to "chanoyu" using matcha. Senchadō represents the free spirit, enriching everyday life through tea and deepening the connections between people. This free and elegant spirit is still popular with many people today. There are many schools, each with its own ethics and philosophy. This time we present Higashi Abe-ryū Senchadō. The tea ceremonies are led by tea ambassador and professional leader Torma Junko.
Programme: 12:00-13:00 Shencha tea ceremony demonstration
The half-hour ceremonies are available four times on this day, in the following time slots: ①13:00 ②14:00 ③15:00 ④16:00
Number of participants: max 10 persons per session
Sweets served during the tea ceremony are gluten, dairy and egg free, but NOT sugar free.
In addition to the tea ceremony, there are a number of Japanese tea tastings available for guests.
The event is subject to registration, which can be done here.

★YUKATA dressing
12:00-17:00, Auditorium
The Japanese traditional costume, the kimono, has a long history and has become famous all over the world. Many people in Hungary have heard of it, but to see the real thing up close is a rare opportunity. At the programme, visitors will have the opportunity to try on this traditional summer type of costume, the pamutkimono, and move freely in it for a few minutes, taking pictures together, thus sharing experiences with friends and family.
The event requires registration, which can be done here.

★Kimono dressing and obi knitting workshop
12:00-14:30, Auditorium
The workshop will provide practical explanations and hands-on explanations on how to wear traditional Japanese kimono and how to tie an obi strap.

★Karate workshop
12:00-14:30, Auditorium
Lecture by Joshinmon Shorinryu karateka kata. Visitors will be taught experiential karate.

★Japanese traditional musical instrument demonstration
13:15-14:30, Auditorium
At this event, you can try traditional Japanese instruments such as the koto, the shinobue (bamboo flute) and several types of shamisen.

★ 36+1 views of Fuji - drawing workshop
14:30-17:00, Auditorium
Target group: families (both children and adults)
The session will be led by Katalin Szeivolt "36 Views of Fuji" (Japanese: 富嶽三十六景) is a landscape series by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai (1760-1849). The series depicts Mount Fuji from different locations, views, seasons and weather conditions. The series was produced between 1830 and 1832, when Hokusai was in his seventies and at the height of his career. The most famous of the prints is 'The Great Wave at Kanagawa'. Mount Fuji is a popular subject in Japanese art because of its cultural and religious significance. The belief dates back to early times that a goddess hid the elixir of eternal life at the top of the mountain.  Hokusai was also fascinated by this story. He drew this series on paper, fixed to cherry woodblocks, so that the master woodcutter could carve the artist's lines on the surface. The blocks of wood were then smeared with different coloured inks and then covered with rice paper for printing. It's a reproduction process; you can do the same in this workshop!

★GO game teaching, with four instructors
12:00-17:00, Café
Go is a game of Far Eastern origin. It is called Go in Japan, Vej-chi in China and Baduk in Korea. The basic rules of the game are so simple that in Japan children are taught to play the game from preschool age. But this does not mean that the game itself is simple. On the contrary, it is a meaningful intellectual game in which thinking, combinatorial skills and strategic knowledge are all crucial. Go is one of the most interesting logic games, as well as a science and an art. Japan is a leader in the spread of Go, with around 3 to 400 professional players out of around 10 million, ensuring that the standards achieved by the old masters are maintained.

★HANAFUDA board game
12:00-17:00, Café
A single deck that represents Japanese culture, nature, recreation, art, community and fun itself. Yes, all this hidden in one special card game, Hanafuda! This is what Réka Scheich brings you with the Hanafuda Club. Hanafuda - Flower Card - is a nature-inspired, Japanese card game with a Japanese flavour. In our session you will not only learn and play the rules of Koi-Koi, but also the cultural background, the development and the symbolism of the deck. The Hanafuda Club, a unique initiative in Hungary, aims to provide quality recreation while bringing Japanese culture closer and, last but not least, creating a new community.

★ORIGAMI folding
12:00-17:00, Pop Culture Club Library
In this session you will learn how to fold a samurai helmet with precise instructions. But you can also enjoy various other origami activities.

★Calligraphy demonstration and calligraphy experience
12:00-17:00, Pop Culture Club Library
Professional calligraphers will give demonstrations. Visitors can try calligraphy for themselves.

★Kokeshi Baba exhibition
12:00-17:00, Lobby, wooden staircase
Tóth-Vásárhelyi Réka - Renka Ars Poetica Since childhood, an inner, intense Japanese-Hungarian ping-pong of inspiration has driven me forward in my artworks. The search for and presentation of differences and similarities, the building of cultural bridges between the two countries has always been a visceral urge. Perhaps I can say that in this bilingualism I found my home, in Japan I found my true Hungarian identity. In my creations, the blend of Japonism and Europeanism tries to blend harmoniously and form a global whole. My encounter with the kokeshi, Japanese fababas, was fateful, from the very beginning my time with them was so smooth and upwardly curving, as if they were guiding me from above. I simply found my way home.
