What is in my pocket? - concert by Petra Gubik
This programme is held in Hungarian.
Petra Gubik is a Junior Prima, Honthy and Petőfi Music Award-winning theatre artist and performer, and besides her theatre career, she is also consciously pursuing her own path as a singer-songwriter.Her first solo album, Ez van, ez!, was released in the summer of 2022, co-written with Edina Szirtes Mókus and Péter Müller Sziámi.
"Music is there in everyday life, permeating one's life, body and soul. It heals, entertains, relaxes, and also functions as therapy. That's why I created my own music project called What's in my pocket? Initially, we built the evening around a single acoustic piano, with Erik Tempfli, Artisjus award-winning pianist and composer, as my partner. This line-up was joined by Artisjus Award-winning jazz violinist Frankie Látó, Junior Prima and Fonogram Award-winning double bassist Tibor Fonay and percussionist Gergely Tar. I felt the time had come to step forward, to let the audience get to know me, Petra Gubik, beyond the roles I played."
During the evening, she will share her own thoughts, poems, songs, stories and unique arrangements with the audience, without acting. She pulls it all out of her pocket with unvarnished honesty and naturalness.
