Budapest Ritmo – 1. day
Budapest Ritmo – 1. day
Budapest Ritmo once again invites you on a special musical journey. This year, the festival moves into the House of Music Hungary, so from 9 to 11 April, not only the conference but the entire concert programme will be hosted by this iconic Budapest venue.
AUDITORIUM
5:30 pm–6:15 pm Veronika Varga (HU)
6:30 pm–7:15 pm Neha! (SK)
7:30 pm–8:15 pm Ethérea (BG)
The eleventh Budapest Ritmo kicks off with a free opening day at the House of Music Hungary. Three young, up-and-coming bands will make their debut in front of invited international professionals and the Ritmo audience. As in previous years, the free concerts will once again showcase fresh talent in world music and the meeting of musical roots with contemporary influences. The audience will hear Veronika Varga’s album True Image, inspired by Hungarian and Greek songs, live for the first time here; the Slovak all-female formation Neha! will fill the Auditorium with rich vocal harmonies; and Ethérea’s music, which infuses Bulgarian folklore with psychedelic elements, promises an exciting finale.
Budapest Ritmo is presented within the framework of the Bartók Spring as a joint programme with Hangvető, organized by Müpa.
