DJ Palotai Day

In 2026, it’s DJ Palotai Day again at the House of Music Hungary! 

Honouring the memory of the legendary DJ Zsolt Palotai, who passed away in 2023, DJ Palotai Day is organised as a joint event of the House of Music Hungary and the newly established DJ Palotai Foundation. 

This tradition‑forming event was created not only to preserve the memory of the DJ who had an undeniable impact on generations and on Hungarian musical culture, but also with the aim of passing on Pro Cultura Urbis award‑winner Zsolt Palotai’s groundbreaking musical approach and oeuvre, and of nurturing and developing the domestic electronic music and DJ culture. 

The day promotes a forward‑looking, innovative, unique and authentic, genre‑spanning, diverse musical culture, quality music listening, musical awareness and community‑building, and awaits visitors with entertaining, informative and educational programmes.

At the Opening at 14:00, speeches will be given by Márton Horn, Director of the House of Music Hungary, Mona Palotai, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the DJ Palotai Foundation, and Zsolt Prieger, founder of Anima Sound System, while DJ Q‑Cee (Random Trip) will present an audio‑visual Scratch Show. 

On the Open‑Air Stage, seasoned DJs well known from Tilos Radio will play from the afternoon till late evening. Titusz, Infragandhi, Beta, Zsolt Prieger (Anima Sound System), Oliv:R, Shuriken and Q‑Cee will bring their favourite records and the latest tracks. Whether it’s dancing, conversations or quality music listening, fun is guaranteed. 

In the Foyer you can see an installation created especially for this occasion. 

In the Library we are preparing workshops specifically for emerging, up‑and‑coming performers, DJs and music producers. Take a look into the world of music production, DJing and artist management practices. Learn from recognised professionals of the music industry, develop your knowledge and creativity, meet your peers and gain fresh momentum for your growth. Presentations by Gáspár Horváth (JumoDaddy, Irie Maffia), János Herold (IamYank, ImproSchool), Gábor Tóth‑Józan and Gergő Tóth‑Józan (Dublic, Next Level Music School) and Márk “Marka” Bóna (Sziget, Bergtalents) await all who are interested. 

At the Sound Dome venue, 360‑degree DJ Palotai visual projections by Kiégő Izzók will be on display. This special audio‑visual experience was created to DJ Palotai’s archived mixes. 

As a continuation of DJ Palotai Day, the most renowned DJs of the Hungarian electronic and bass music scene will play until dawn at the Palotai Forever party on the A38 Ship, where, alongside the freshest dance music, the great classics will also have a place.

Ticket information 

Admission to the installation, DJ programmes and workshops is free of charge. 

The Sound Dome screenings and the concert require tickets purchased in advance. 

By purchasing a ticket you also support the DJ Palotai Foundation.

The Foundation collects, organises, digitises and maintains Zsolt Palotai’s audio and visual archives, his mixes, record collection, photos and films. As part of this, it publishes releases, musical recordings and archival materials and provides both digital and physical access for the public, creators and researchers.

In addition to the House of Music Hungary and the DJ Palotai Foundation, numerous former friends, creative partners, organisers and the Palotai family participated in the implementation of DJ Palotai Day, and the organisers express their gratitude for this collaboration.
