Bendegúz Varga Quartet

Chasing Your Dreams, the second album by Bendegúz Varga’s band, released in 2023 by Tom-Tom Records, is a continuation of the 2018 album Goldmund and reveals perhaps a yet more mature soundscape and an even clearer dedication to modern mainstream experimental contemporary jazz. The compositions and arrangements by both the bandleader and the ensemble’s other members reveal careful elaboration along with a uniform emotional and atmospheric charge, and are played with a high degree of quality and sensitivity. Although diverse in character, the music on the album still creates a coherent overall picture, in addition to offering a relatively easy-to-approach musical world even for those new to the genre.
