DOME_LIVE 017 Lands of Dome: Domes Electroniques
This SoundDome audiovisual series is being launched in cooperation with institutions that represent or support various countries, cultures or ethnic groups. The plan is for audiovisual artists from particular regions to present new works in the Dome 2-3 times a year that will then be included in the daily content presented there for a set period. The first partner to step up in this collaborative series is the French Institute who will be presenting Dome Electroniques, a collection of four works especially compiled for the Dome by Diversion Cinema, a French company that specialises in the distribution of virtual reality content. The longest, a pulsating electronic work called -22.7C, is the highlight. Created by the French music producer Molecule, this piece of electronic music is based on sound recordings that he made during his travels in Greenland, with visuals that transport the viewer to an icy virtual world among glaciers that spread out beneath the northern lights.
The other parts of the Dome Electroniques are PHOSPHENE by Jérémy Oury, THE MATERIAL OF MEMORIES by Neon Minuit, and INTRODUCTORY ECONOMETRICS by Lydia Yakonowsky.
