DOME_LIVE 035 Continuum
The DOME_RELOAD program this year debuts two new films: Partita for 8 Voices and Continuum. Both works are dome films by the Canadian Hubblo. Continuum offers emotionally rich and stunning images, through an immersive experience that captivates the visitor and transports them into the beauties of outer space.
This presentation offers emotion-filled and mesmerizing images, with technically sophisticated and ingenious solutions, through an immersive experience that sweeps the visitor away and carries them into the beauties of outer space. On our journey we pass through galaxies, and across vast expanses we explore nebulae! A journey into blue universes and the world of interconnected bubbles, among the offspring of the Big Bang. These bubbles transform into cells — into human forms, and space becomes the "other" reflection!
Imagine lying on the grass on a beautiful summer night, watching the stars…
When you enter the dome, the mirror-smooth floor immediately catches your eye, resembling a lake. It reflects the dome of stars, so you get the feeling as if you are walking in outer space. The atmosphere is friendly, intimate. In the center, rock-like forms rise out of the "water" — actually bean bags that provide comfortable seating. Make yourself comfortable; the journey will begin shortly!
At first you find yourself in a breathtaking plunge, deep within a life-sized solar system! Your senses become continuously alert under the influence of the strange beauties around you. This odyssey through the beauties and forces of space is accompanied by an impressive soundscape: selected symphonic pieces from the music of Philip Glass, which echo the immeasurability of the universe — in a spectacular transformation from the infinitely large to the infinitely small.
In the underground levels of the House of Music Hungary lies the Sound Dome. This is where the program begins, with a short film providing an unusual acoustic and visual experience, after which the visitors are shown an increasing number of similar films.
