Danubia Percussion Ensemble: Hungarian Folk Tales

The program is held in Hungarian.

As a form of relaxation, everyone loves watching movies. And relaxation becomes even easier if what you're watching is good! Generations have grown up with the films of "Hungarian Folk Tales," proving their timelessness and excellence. However, there is no perfect cinematic experience without perfect music! This forms the basis of this concert, where the great artists of the Danubia Percussion Ensemble will accompany three classic films with live music, featuring an entirely new percussion arrangement. Of course, complemented by a storyteller, as that is how the experience is truly authentic! Moreover, between screenings, children can actively participate in the performance: they can explore the capabilities of percussion instruments and together come up with sounds and rhythms for the tales. We hope that those who attend not only enjoy themselves but also feel they have learned a lot about the world of percussion instruments and music.

Music too has its own close friends. And as friends do, they often meet up to create wonderful things together. In this series, we aim to show how dance, theatre, and poetry are all connected to music and, conversely, how the addition of music can enhance these other art forms. As for how we plan to do this, suffice it to say that these special performances in this series are all inspired by folk traditions, so those attending them will also be exposed to some of Hungary’s tremendous richness in this regard! So anyone who enjoys learning new things while having fun would do well to purchase tickets for this series!

This programme is recommended for visitors aged 5 and older.
