Kálmán Oláh is an extremely versatile jazz pianist, composer, arranger and teacher, a prominent figure in contemporary Hungarian jazz, who masterfully combines elements of jazz, folk music and contemporary classical music. He is an assistant professor at the Liszt Academy of Music, where he teaches piano and composition. The Oláh Kálmán Septet style is best described as contemporary jazz, with a predominantly 20th century compositional music, particularly the aural world of Bartok.
