TAMAKKO-ZA with Drums and Drama

On March 23, there will be a Japan Day at the House of Music, on the occasion of the upcoming Osaka Expo, which is a great opportunity to learn about Japanese culture. During the all-day program series, in addition to three concert hall programs (On a Stormy Night - matinee concert from 12:00, TAMAKKO-ZA - concert with drums and play from 14:00, KIZUNA concert from 16:00), numerous free or free but registration-required programs will be available.

A combined daily ticket for the Japan Day programs is also available at a price of 7500 HUF, allowing access to all three concert hall programs.

The Concert Hall programme will continue with a performance combining drums and a stage piece.

Will Taiko speak!?
If you think of Japanese taiko drumming as a powerful series of percussions, you'll definitely be surprised by this performance.
The Taiko and Bamboo Flutes will be played in a sometimes humorous, sometimes quiet and calm way, as if telling a story.
TAMAKKO ZA drumming and drama was founded 40 years ago in Tokyo with the aim of creating drumming and drama that entertains and inspires. Japanese taiko drums are instruments made from trees and animal skins that have been alive for hundreds of years and are infused with the life force of nature.
The Japanese people, living in harmony with nature, used drums to express their prayers, wishes, gratitude and joy for abundant harvests, and the sounds of these drums have been passed down as a traditional performing art in various regions.
We at TAMAKKO ZA, while drawing on traditional Japanese culture, continue to create unique works full of creativity.
Our stage performances have been highly acclaimed in many countries from Europe, America and Asia as art that transcends time and ethnicity.
We beat the drum wishing freedom, peace and happiness for all living beings with a soul.

We hope everyone from children to grandparents will enjoy our play!
