Eszter Bíró: North is Ahead of Me
The program is held in Hungarian.
Eszter Bíró’s latest programme of songs and stories invites every member of the family on a journey around the world. In her fourth children’s album, the artist encourages young and old alike to boldly set out to explore the world, learn about other cultures and find the sense of freedom that lies within us all. It also reminds us how important it is to show respect for each other, to share our thoughts and to use the goodness within us to bring joy to those around us!
In addition to contemporary texts by György Hegyi, Dániel Varró, Péter Büki, and Vivien Csakmag, the album also features poems from the Hungarian literary canon by Sándor Petőfi, Miklós Radnóti and Sándor Weöres.
And, of course, along with her new music, the singer will also be performing some of her most popular songs, like Napsoroló (‘Days of the Week’) and, to mark the approach of Easter, Tóbiás, a húsvéti nyúl (‘Tobias the Easter Bunny’),as well as her liveliest tunes from her TV series Az Időmanó kalandjai (‘The Adventures of the Time Gnome’). We look forward to welcoming little ones and their elders alike for a fantastic musical journey around the world full of good cheer, in which we will dance and sing together with the Hungarian State Opera Children’s Choir and a wonderful guest star, József Wunderlich (whose credits include the lead in the Comedy Theatre of Budapest’s production of The Pál Street Boys)!
In the foyer after the concert, the authors will sign copies of their musical book Előttem van észak! (‘In Front of Me There’s North!’), which is being released that same day!
This performance is taking place with the support of the National Cultural Fund.
