Through the Eyes of Man / Through the Eyes of Women
Balázs Horváth's song cycle Férfiszemmel / Női szemmel [Through a Man’s Eyes/Through a Woman’s Eyes], written in 2010, is based on different types of love poems – texts and translations by Hungarian poets. "The piece was written for Ágnes Herczku," says Balázs Horváth, "with whom I had worked previously, and I knew she would be able to sing in different styles. During the rehearsals, it also became clear to me that she sings as many characters as there are songs she sings and again as many characters she can portray on stage."
