Anna and the Barbies – Christmas Afternoon Concert

As they mark their 20th anniversary together this year, Anna and the Barbies are getting ready to put on a festive Christmas concert with lots of extras, including a book presentation, film screening and exhibition, along with an audience meet-and-greet at the House of Music Hungary.  Get ready for some acoustic moods, intimacy and a full-evening programme.

On Friday, 13 December, Anna and the Barbies will close out both their twentieth birthday year and 2024 at the House of Music Hungary with a special concert and event series. What to expect on this remarkable night? In Anna Pásztor’s own words: “We want to wrap this year up with a magical fairy tale-like night at the House of Music.  We always hold Christmas concerts, usually checking in from the rehearsal room or from home, and we thought that this year we would do it from this marvellous spot, this dwelling fit for elves with lit trees and beautiful architecture, that is the House of Music. We want a real celebration, where people, free of shame, can wear their most beautiful clothes: grandma’s fuchsia hand-me-downs, small hats or big ones, the netting over the eyes, the little reticule, the slightly musty tuxedo. This one will be an acoustic concert,with mulled wine at the bar and hopefully a snowy background, where, in this turbulent 21st century, we can celebrate the old times. We would like to invite everyone to a fabulous, beautiful and slowed-down Christmas event, where we have, in addition to the concert, all kinds of surprises in store.
