Vasarely 360 is an autonomous audiovisual production that reflects on the art and way of thinking of Victor Vasarely in the immersive hemispherical space of the House of Music Hungary.
One of the key ideas of Vasarely’s oeuvre is that the image is not merely a unique work of art, but a language organized from forms, colors, and recurring relations. His plastic alphabet and the concept of “planetary folklore” pointed toward a kind of visual thinking in which combinations of elements can create ever-new visual worlds, and art can become a communal experience accessible to many.
The homage created in the House of Music Hungary carries this approach forward into the context of 21st-century digital culture and immersive spaces—in this case, the dome space. The essentially plane-based optical thinking here transforms into a spatial, enveloping experience in which form, movement, and perception are in continuous interaction with one another.
Vasarely 360 is a tribute to Vasarely’s visual legacy, while as an independent media artwork it also gives voice to questions of today’s image culture, algorithmic systems, and collective perceptual spaces.

In the underground levels of the House of Music Hungary lies the Sound Dome. This is where the program begins, with a short film providing an unusual acoustic and visual experience, after which the visitors are shown an increasing number of similar films.
