In 2020, Mónika Lakatos became the first Roma musician to receive the most prestigious award on the global music scene, the WOMEX Lifetime Achievement Award. In the purest traditions of Oláh Gypsy culture she will perform solo at the House of Music, completely alone with her singularly lean and powerful voice.
