SOLD-OUT - Platon Karataev

Named after a Leo Tolstoy character, the quartet Platon Karataev formed in Budapest in 2016 and swiftly became one of the best and most popular groups on the Hungarian guitar music scene. Their first record, the 2017 folk-rock album For Her, also put the band on the international map.

Their songs have since been streamed millions of times from every corner of the world.  The band's second album, Atoms (2020), saw them move away from an acoustic direction towards a louder, more grandiose sound. The record was concerned with the search for our innermost selves and our questioning of everything. In the songs, you sometimes find yourself falling in on yourself, and at other times drifting further away. The band continued on this spiral with its third album, Partért kiáltó (Shouting to the Shore), which was released in early 2022 and looks upon man through the eyes of the the waters, mountain and forest, and continues to speculate on the essence of existence. The Artisjus association's reports showed that Partért kiáltó was a firm favourite among music critics, while it also won a Fonogram Award. The band's next full-length record, Napkötöző (Sunbound) is coming soon. In the lead up to its release, a unique music video was recorded in the spring at the House of Music, utilising the space, projection screen and sound system of the Sound Dome. The new songs will be the focus of this concert, which will also feature a contribution from special guests Józsi Hegedűs and the Vadvirág Band.
