The exhibition LISTEN. - A musical journey around the world takes us on a journey through the wonderful, music-filled life of more than thirty countries. Through the films and the installations in the exhibition, we are immersed in traditional, communal moments of music: around a festive table, in the middle of a dance, in the thick of a masked procession. We get a taste of music's ancient, communal role. And to make this experience even more vivid, we can also experience the communal joy of music-making for ourselves, guided by Anna Gulyás, our music teacher and cultural anthropologist! Because, as filmmaker Garry Bassin says: "It's not that the world is music: we are music." Among many cultural curiosities, we will bring a wide range of exotic themes to life through simple music and dance exercises that everyone can enjoy. Smells of exotic delicacies will also spice up the occasion! Anna Gulyás herself has collected on several continents, and with her orchestra she has arranged songs of many different peoples. She is one of the authors of the descriptive texts for the LISTEN. exhibition.
