Psychedelic Source Records Label Night

This programme is held in Hungarian.

Psychedelic Source is an improvisational heavy space rock collective that has been continuously evolving in both time and space since 2017, founded by musicians from like-minded formations. The psychedelic jams on the forest’s edge soon led to recordings, then became live events, and the music sessions have been regularly released on the label’s platforms. By now, nearly 100 releases are lined up on the Psychedelic Source Bandcamp page – many of them have also appeared on CD and vinyl, in collaboration with Greek, English, and American labels. In addition to its domestic audience, the label’s activity enjoys a large international fan base. The Independent Label Fair, the yearly market held at the House of Music to celebrate Hungarian independent labels, has been acknowledging record companies with awards since 2024; at the most recent event in 2025, the professional jury chose Psychedelic Records as Label of the Year, and one of the outcomes of this award is this label night, where the label will be presented on the Outdoor Stage.

This event is also a prelude to an autumn mini-festival, Jam in the Psych Castle, of which Psychedelic Source is one of the main organizers. The mini-fest is the first event in the country organized specifically around this theme – improvisational psychedelic space rock jamming. “In this 150-minute program, we aim to provide insight into the crystallized essence of our work over the past 10 years, and to offer guidance in a kaleidoscopic labyrinth, while also whetting the appetite for the Pusztazámor festival. Across our ninety-something releases so far, several dozen Hungarian and foreign musicians have appeared; now a carefully selected supergroup of roughly 12 members will navigate souls through a 150-minute, essentially break-free performance, where heavier riffs flow into the lighter psychedelia of the early seventies, sprinkled with ambient drifting, space jazz, and universal folk music.”
